The origins of the company date back to Germany of the 1940s when a welding rod dealer, Adolf Wuttke, made tools to help
explore the depths of the North Sea and invented next-level outerwear for workers offshore andin the shipyards. His
parkas were made of unique, waxed sailcloth withstanding the harsh weather, while keeping workers safe and warm.
In the 90s, the family-run business branched out, moving beyond workwear to offering a new generation of outdoor
enthusiasts a wide range of well-designed jackets for all seasons.
Today, Wellensteyn embodies the same dedication to quality with an elevated focus on style, catering to people of

ages with jackets, shoes, hats, scarves, belts, sunglasses, watches and other accessories.
The brand quickly evolved to a leader within the winter jacket industry in most European countries. Entering
North-America was just a matter of time. The first Canadian store opened August 18th, 2024 in Niagara-on-the Lake,
Ontario. With plans of expansion, more stores will follow across Canada and into the US market.
