Cleaning Guide

Dear customers,

Please note the following care instructions for your Wellensteyn jacket.

We recommend that you always wash the jacket inside out. All zippers and velcro tapes, buttons and belt buckles should be closed to avoid damage to the jacket.

Always check your pockets and remove all items that could damage the lining.

Removable faux fur parts of hoods, sleeves and collars, as well as belts and/or buckles need to be removed before washing. Wash faux fur parts separately by hand, then shake and comb them thoroughly after drying.

Always turn the jacket inside out.

Please follow the care instructions on the care label sewn into the inside pocket. For almost all models we recommend machine washing at 30 °C with liquid detergent in the gentle wash cycle. Do not use washing capsules or pods as they do not dissolve at 30 °C and could leave stains on the jacket. For down jackets and jackets with down-like chamber filling we recommend special down detergent (usually sold for duvets and eiderdowns in drug stores).

Please note that it is forbidden to use fabric conditioner or any other detergent that contains softening agents, fabric softeners, impregnation agents, stain removers or whiteners, because these agents reduce the functional properties of the jacket.

It is recommended to use colour catcher sheets for bright-coloured jackets.

Spin dry at low speed, up to 800–900 rpm.

Never put your jacket in a tumble dryer. Shake your jacket vigorously and hang it in an airy place, then dry it horizontally. Do not dry your jacket on a heater or sun dry it as it may fade or discolour it.

After drying, check whether the down or down-like chamber filling is really 100% dry. If necessary, repeat the drying process. Shake out the jacket again and hang it up in an airy place for another 24 hours. Under certain circumstances the down or down-like chamber filling might clump. In this case, please carefully pull it apart several times after shaking to even it out until the jacket reaches the desired original state.

Please note the guide below for cleaning Wellensteyn pullovers:

You can safely wash your pullover in a washing machine at home. Its colour may fade during the first wash. Use a gentle wash cycle at 30 °C. Use a general household liquid detergent, but never use washing capsules or pods as they do not dissolve at 30 °C and may leave a stain on your pullover.

Wash bright-coloured pullovers with similarly coloured clothes and use a colour catcher sheets. Do not sun dry your pullover for it may fade.

Always follow the care instructions on the care label sewn in the pullover. The more you adhere to the cleaning instructions, the longer you can preserve the original condition of your jacket and pullover.
