Cleaning Guide

Dear Customer,

Please observe the following instructions for cleaning Wellensteyn jackets.

We recommend that you always turn the jacket inside out before washing. Do up all zippers, fasten all buckles and belt buckles and close all hook-and-loop (Velcro) fasteners as well, so that they cannot damage the surface of the jacket.

Always check the pockets to make sure that nothing is left inside that could damage the lining during washing.

Before washing, remove all detachable parts and take the faux fur trims off the jacket (from the hood, collars, sleeves, belts and belt buckles). Wash the faux fur separately by hand, do not put it in the washing machine; once dry, shake it out thoroughly and comb it through.

Always turn the jacket inside out.

Please always follow the care instructions on the care label sewn into the inside pocket.

Please observe the following instructions for cleaning Wellensteyn jackets. You can safely wash the jacket at home in a washing machine; for most models we recommend a gentle cycle at 30 °C. Use a standard household liquid detergent, but do not use detergent capsules (pods), as these do not dissolve at 30 °C and may leave stains on the jacket. For down-filled and chamber-filled jackets we recommend using a down detergent (usually sold for bedding).

Please remember that fabric softeners, waterproofing (impregnating) sprays, stain removers and bleach must not be used on Wellensteyn jackets, as these products reduce the functional properties of the jacket. For brightly coloured jackets we recommend using a colour catcher sheet.

Spin cycle: low speed, max. 800–900 rpm.

Never put the jacket in a dryer. Shake the jacket out thoroughly and dry it flat in a well-ventilated place. Do not place it on a radiator and do not dry it in direct sunlight, as the jacket may discolour or fade.

After drying, check that the down or chamber filling is really 100% dry. If necessary, repeat the drying. Shake the jacket out again, then hang it in a well-ventilated place for a further 24 hours. The down or chamber filling may clump together. In this case, after shaking the jacket out, gently pull the filling apart several times until the jacket regains its original shape and loft.

Please observe the following instructions for cleaning Wellensteyn sweaters. You can safely wash your sweater at home in a washing machine; the colour may fade during the first wash. Wash it at 30 °C on a gentle cycle. Use a standard household liquid detergent, but do not use detergent capsules (pods), as these do not dissolve at 30 °C and may leave stains on the sweater.

If the item is brightly coloured, wash it together with similar colours and use a colour catcher sheet. Do not dry the sweater in direct sunlight, as its colour may fade.

Please always follow the care instructions on the care label sewn into the item. The more closely you follow these care instructions, the longer your jacket and sweater will keep their original condition.
